Measuring for a new splashback may seem daunting, but it's actually quite straightforward if you follow the right steps. Before starting, it's important to account for a few key factors to ensure accurate measurements and a proper fit during installation. Please see our indepth splashback measuring guide for detailed instructions and tips on measuring.
Measure the width and height of the area between the countertop and cabinets. Take multiple measurements as walls and cabinets are rarely perfectly square. Use the shortest measurement to allow for slight variations.
Don't forget to account for expansion by allowing a 2mm gap from edges where the splashback meets walls or objects. This prevents damage from wood cabinets expanding/contracting with moisture and heat changes.
